| Plan | Runs on | First year, new members | Each year after |
|---|---|---|---|

| Quicken Classic Deluxe | Windows and Mac | $83.88, no offer | $83.88 |

| Quicken Classic Business & Personal | Windows and Mac | $131.89 | $149.88 |
| Quicken Simplifi | Web, iPhone and Android | $47.90 | $83.88 |
These are the amounts Quicken's own cart charged on October 17, 2026, in US dollars, before tax. Quicken's pricing pages show them per month: $4.49 for Starter, $6.99 for Deluxe, $8.99 for Premier, $12.49 for Business & Personal and $6.99 for Simplifi, or $7.99, $10.99 and $3.99 a month with the first-year offer. But every plan is billed once a year, in full, when you buy.
The first-year offers are for new members who order directly from Quicken by November 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time. They can't be combined with other offers, and Starter has none. Quicken's cart adds that if you've had a Quicken subscription before, you pay the full price.
Quicken also sells Quicken Business & Personal, a web and phone app for the self-employed, at $107.88 a year, or $59.87 for a new member's first year. It's a different product from Quicken Classic Business & Personal, the desktop program.
What one subscription covers
A Quicken Classic subscription includes a copy for Windows and a copy for Mac. You can install it on as many computers as you like, signed in with the same Quicken ID. Quicken says it's designed for one user. Simplifi is a separate product, and a Classic subscription doesn't include it.
Is there a free trial?
No. Quicken offers a 30-day money-back guarantee instead, on Quicken Classic and on Simplifi bought from Quicken. It counts from the day you buy, or from the day your subscription renews.
Can you buy Quicken once?
No. Quicken says a subscription is required and that all its future products will be subscriptions. Stores also sell Quicken, as a box or download with an activation code, but it's the same subscription, and the code has to be used within a year of purchase. This page lists only Quicken's own prices.
How renewal works
- It's automatic. Quicken Classic renews every year at the then-current price. Quicken emails you 30 days before, and charges the card on file on your expiration date.
- It's at the full price. The first-year offer doesn't carry over. Premier goes from $95.91 to $107.88 in its second year, Business & Personal from $131.89 to $149.88, and Simplifi from $47.90 to $83.88. Quicken says it doesn't expect any significant increase, but its prices are subject to change.
- You can turn it off. Sign in to My Account on quicken.com, go to Subscriptions, choose Manage Subscription and then Cancel Renewal. You keep everything until the end of the year you've paid for.
- A renewal can be refunded. The 30-day money-back guarantee also covers an automatic renewal.
- Renewing by hand. With auto-renew off, you can renew in the last six months of your term, not earlier.
- Changing plans. You can upgrade at any time, but no more than once every 30 days; the unused part of your old plan is added as extra time. A downgrade is only possible in the last six months of a term.
What happens if you don't renew
It depends on the plan. For Quicken Classic, Quicken's Data Access Guarantee decides what still works:
- Deluxe, Premier and Business & Personal. You can still view, edit and export your data, and enter transactions and accounts by hand. The data file stays on your computer.
- What stops. Transaction downloads, investment quotes, mobile sync and access to Quicken Support. Feature updates end with the membership too, and Quicken shows expiration messages until you renew.
- Starter. It becomes read-only with limited functions, in Quicken's words. You can still create and edit transactions, with a "Membership Expired" message each time, and edit budgets and bill reminders you already had. You can't add accounts, new budgets or new bill reminders. Quicken notes that some users have had trouble even with the features it lists as available.
- Quicken Simplifi. The guarantee doesn't cover it. Without a subscription, Quicken says, you can't view your data or add transactions. Your data stays on Quicken's servers for a period of time, and you pick up where you left off if you subscribe again.
- Quicken 2017 and older. Not covered either. Quicken says they may still work but are no longer supported.
So with Classic Deluxe or higher, stopping doesn't lock you out of your records. You keep a ledger you type into. What you stop paying for, and stop getting, is bank downloads, quotes, sync, support and new features.
What Quicken costs over 1, 3 and 5 years
At today's prices, before tax, with the first-year offer where there is one and the full price after that. UrBudget is $9 once for all your own computers, plus $2 a month if you also want sync between them.
| Total after | 1 year | 3 years | 5 years |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quicken Classic Starter | $53.88 | $161.64 | $269.40 |
| Quicken Classic Deluxe | $83.88 | $251.64 | $419.40 |
| Quicken Classic Premier | $95.91 | $311.67 | $527.43 |
| Quicken Classic Business & Personal | $131.89 | $431.65 | $731.41 |
| Quicken Simplifi | $47.90 | $215.66 | $383.42 |
| UrBudget with sync | $33 | $81 | $129 |
| UrBudget | $9 | $9 | $9 |
If you've had a Quicken subscription before, there's no first-year offer: add $11.97 to Premier's totals, $17.99 to Business & Personal's and $35.98 to Simplifi's. The totals also assume Quicken's prices stay the same, which Quicken doesn't promise.
Because Deluxe and higher keep working for manual entry after a subscription ends, you can stop paying for Quicken Classic at the end of any year. You keep your records; you give up bank downloads, quotes, sync, support and new features.
Is Quicken worth it?
For some people, yes. Quicken Classic is a full finance manager, and the subscription pays for parts a budget app doesn't have. It's worth staying with Quicken if you:
- track investments and want holdings, prices, performance and capital gains next to your spending
- want transactions to download from your bank on their own, or want to pay bills from the program (Premier and up)
- have years of history in a Quicken file and still use it
- manage rental property or a small business alongside your own money (Business & Personal)
- use Quicken's tax reports at tax time
If you mostly use Quicken for a monthly budget, though, you're paying every year for tools you don't use. UrBudget replaces the budgeting part only: envelope budgeting on Windows and Mac, for $9 once, with your budget in a file on your computer. It doesn't track investments, pay bills or print checks, it doesn't connect to banks, and it can't open a Quicken file. You import statement files from your bank instead (CSV, OFX, QFX or QIF). UrBudget vs Quicken compares the two in full, with other Quicken alternatives.
A budget you pay for once
UrBudget is free for 30 days, with no account and no card, then $9 once. Your Quicken file stays as it is.
