Schwab brokerage accounts
- Open Transaction History. Log on to Schwab's website, click the Accounts tab, then Transaction History.
- Pick the account. If you have more than one, choose it from the drop-down.
- Include every transaction type. Click Filter by Transaction Types, make sure Select All is checked, and click Apply.
- Set the dates. Choose a date range, or Custom with From and To dates, then click Search.
- Export. Click Export in the top right corner, choose CSV, and click Export again.
A download is limited to 10,000 records, so export a long history in shorter date ranges.
A brokerage history mixes trades, dividends and cash transfers. In UrBudget, a brokerage account fits as an Investment account, which tracks its balance; UrBudget doesn't track shares, prices or cost basis. In the preview, you can set any row you don't want to Skip. If the file import doesn't accept the file, attach it to the assistant, which maps the columns itself.
Schwab Bank Investor Checking
- Sign in at Schwab.com on a computer and open the checking account's history.
- Look for a download option. Choose QFX or OFX if it's offered, otherwise CSV, and the dates since your last import.
- No download? Save a statement as a PDF and let the assistant read it.
Bring it into UrBudget
Import brokerage history into an Investment account, and set any trade row you don't want in your budget to Skip. Checking goes into its own checking account. Then choose Import file on your Schwab account and check the preview; the import guide has every step, and what the assistant sends to your AI provider when it reads a statement.
If something looks wrong
- A brokerage export is cut short. TradeLog's note about 10,000 records applies; export shorter date ranges.
- Trades fill the preview. Set the rows you don't need to Skip, or track the brokerage account by its balance instead of importing every trade.
Budget with your Schwab file
Free for 30 days on Windows and macOS, then $9 once. UrBudget reads the files you download and never connects to your bank or broker.
